About Me.
Hi! I'm Emily.
I'm a passionate, life long learner and I believe in creating inclusive spaces for children where they can explore the world in safe and supportive environments. I focus in working with young children with complex needs and have been supporting families for nearly 15 years in both community and clinical settings.
After completing my degree at Carleton University in Linguistics and Psychology, I continued pursuing further education and training to better support the children and families I work with. I am a Certified Children's Yoga Teacher, specializing in making yoga inclusive and accessible, and am a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. For the past eight years I have supported families working in Early Intervention programs for Autistic children while providing parent consultation and collaborating as part of multidisciplinary teams.
I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as a Qualifying Registered Psychotherapist. I have a comprehensive approach to therapy and believe the therapeutic relationship with a child is the most important piece for our success together. I use approaches based in play therapy, attachment theory, mindfulness, psychoanalysis and body-based regulation while supporting children's emotional and sensory needs. I work alongside parents to help them become the most reliable co-regulator for their child.
